Subsequent to announcing Snow Leopard compatibility status, additional testing of MacSpeech Dictate compatibility with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard has been completed. When Snow Leopard shipped, an update for the currently shipping product line -- version 1.5 -- was confirmed. In addition, it was not expected that the company would update prior shipping versions, including MacSpeech Dictate 1.3 and earlier. At this time, we can confirm that using MacSpeech Dictate 1.3 with Snow Leopard will result in limited and incomplete functionality. Furthermore, the difference between Snow Leopard when the company completed the free, version 1.3 update and Snow Leopard as it shipped is definitely too great. Therefore, we can clearly confirm there will be no Snow Leopard compatiblity update to MacSpeech Dictate 1.3. In addition, we neither encourage, nor support, using MacSpeech Dictate 1.3 with Snow Leopard. For people who still want to use version 1.3 -- unsupported, and functionality limited -- on Snow Leopard, an available MacSpeech Dictate version 1.3.1 update will unblock the use of MacSpeech Dictate 1.3 on Snow Leopard. Again, using MacSpeech Dictate 1.3 with Snow Leopard will result in limited and incomplete functionality. Snow Leopard compatibility updates are confirmed as forthcoming for all editions of MacSpeech Dictate version 1.5 in the coming weeks. #### |
