Note pad does not start up. Do others have the same issue?
My preferences are set for new note pad at DD start up... and... NOT to show profiles window.
However, if I open the profiles window and manually "continue" on my designated profile, a note pad is created. Bug report submitted.

Suddenly my Status Window disappeared and so did the start up note pad. I check preferences, they were checked on. I had to ask dictate to show the windows. A Reset of plist did not correct. I was about to send a ticket to TechSupport when dictate asked me to read a story. Since I just changed microphones I decided to go through the process.

Bingo! Status bar and notepad restored.
Conclusion: DD requires the completion of a profile with at least one reading. If you try to bypass the setup process, preferences will be impaired. I now recall skipping the voice training step.

@marky: suggest you complete or review the set up process with a profile or create a new profile with voice training.

@marky

Have you tried Quitting Dragon Dictate 2.0 and restarting it again?

Perhaps you have inadvertently unchecked the "Show Status Window" in Dictate› Preferences› General?

When you post seeking help, those able and willing to help will not have to waste time second guessing the situation if full information is included with that post.
Please consider using a "Signature" like that below.
All the information shown there is inserted automatically for me when I say "Insert Signature".
You would be similarly able to place your "Signature" by making a "Custom Command".
You can do this via Dictate› Tools› Commands› then add a Command by clicking the "+" sign under the list of Commands.
Give this new Command an appropriate Name.
Select "Global" form the Context field.
Choose “Text Macro" from the Type field.
Then simply type in to the Text field the information you wish to have placed in the post.
When you have finished click the Save button at the bottom right.
You can test the result of your new Command by opening, say, a TextEdit document and saying the name that you gave to this Command.

Add information about any Applications you are using to accept the dictation within the body of your post.
Use this entry to explain as clearly as possible what the problem is and what event/s lead up to the occurrence.
Also record any advice you have followed and report the result, feedback is important to those offering advice.
Do not be worried or embarrassed about lack of knowledge or terminology, we are all learning here.

Best regards, G
