7 suggestions:
.

1. In "advanced settings" in preferences, a slider scale for level of delay before a spoken word is to be considered a possible command.
.

2. Alternatively all spoken commands are minimum two word combinations. So "read" should be "read this". So that the single word "read" spoken in a normal dictation can not be misread as a command.
.

3. Also in "advanced settings". User option. Make back up copy of current VP and settings, selections every: Never, 1 hr, 5 hours, 10 hours, 20 hrs (of use).
.

4. List all commands in the command list. For example "read", and "bullet" clearly exist as commands, but are not listed. (It is great that user can switch off what they are not going to use. Thanks.)
.

5. Vocabulary list: It is invaluable being able to edit the vocabulary list. I suggest good to add ability to add or remove whole sub list areas of the vocabulary list - with option to then individually add or remove individual items within that sub list. Eg, if there is a sub list of modern acronyms, one could turn acronyms off generally, but go back and tick on a few special ones that you know you will need. Other sub groups could be geographic place names by country or region, personal names by country or ethnic group, computer and scientific terms. There should also be some special case groups - for example all capitalised version of common words (that particularly would be good).
.

6. Also in "advanced settings". A button that if set, and program restarted, the VP is restarted with a basic or minimal set up of all the above. This standard start up option is then used with a set of standard dictation texts contained in the user manual that a user can dictate out for diagnostic purposes.

There could be more than one test text. Different test texts to focus on different speaking issues, eg phoneme groups or letters associated with particular voice frequencies.

This is so that when it comes to problem solving a user's problems with performance, one can ask a user to set this button to "standard set up" of their VP (it restarts the VP using a standard setup, leaving their current preferred settings in tact). One then asks them to dictate one or more of the test texts (set in appendix in the user manual).

The user can then provide a copy of the dictated results, uncorrected for review by the person helping them. This is useful for diagnostic of what the issues may be. Consider this with next point, a metadate file for diagnostic purpose.
.

7. Add to above option a metadata file with standard set up. This can be user viewed, saved as a text file, and sent by email to someone offering diagnostic assistance.

Some recommended metadata to consider.

Computer model.
CPU Ghz
System RAM
Current OS

OS system mic input volume (%)
Sound input device name

Dictate version
VP Name
Dialect and spelling settings for this VP

Any internal sound threshold or other hidden parameters
Perhaps spectrum of sound input from mic device during speech over 5 or 10 sound frequency areas.

Initial training sessions completed.
Training sessions since repeated.
Corrects stats (number since VP begun, ave rate per hour of corrections - since begun, in last 10 hours of use,..?).
Use of writing style analysis (eg total words added, some stat indicator on level of adjustment to underlying statistical model).
Total hours of use in dictation mode since creation of the VP.
Total hours of use in command mode since creation of the VP.

Get a metadate file like this, and it becomes much easier to identify possible areas of where the problem is.

For example, system mic metadata reports active mic to be the internal mic because the user's headset is not physically plugged in all the way, or it needs to be selected in the system sound control panel.

Or this is a long term stable VP that has recently gone wrong. Possibly corrupted VP, restore last back up copy of VP and try again.
.
