Is there any fix for the conflicts with auto-complete software, such as TypeIt4Me?

Neaf, as far as I know from following this Forum topic for some time the answer is "no." The best I've seen so far — and what I do myself — is simply turn that software off before I start dictating a document. Not very satisfying, but that seems to be where things have stood for quite a long time.

I wonder if Dragon Dictate has found a way around this problem. Any Dragon Dictate users care to respond about this issue?

You may experience odd results, such as inverted letters, when using Dictate with text helper apps like QuicKeys, TextExpander, Typinator, etc. We recommend that users of Dragon Dictate turn off these helper applications, as well as any similar features (such as "auto-complete") inside of applications.

    Hi Everyone:

I just discovered in the past 2 days the conflict between Dragon Dictate and typit4me. This was quite disappointing since I have over 300 snippets of text and use abbreviations all day long. One thing that I did notice is that a very old version of typeit4me, I believe it is around 3.2, does not seem to cause the inverted letters with Dictate.

I discovered this quite innocently when I was using typeit4me 3.x along with Dictate and having no problems at all except that I could not edit my snippets in Snow Leopard. I decided to upgrade to the latest typeit4m, version 5.02, and this is when I got the inverted letters... very weird.

So, my conclusion is that it MAY be possible to work with typeit4me 3.x and Dictate at the same time and just do your editing with 5.x when needed. The downside of this is that Typeit4me 3.x does seem to cause some issues with the system prefs application but if you do not attempt to access the pref pane, it may be possible to avoid this.

I'd love to hear from others who have any experience with this. You can download 3.x via a googl search. I really hope that Riccardo fixes this in Typeit4me because they are both awesome apps that need to be able to get along with one another.

    Sincerely,
    Howard

I listed Pages as an application not to expand text in. This only partially solved the problem. I did go to Pages preferences and note that most of the corrections there has been unchecked. So, there was no interference from pages.

I then closed type it for me. After dictating several paragraphs including this note, there has been no occurrences. I like that little program, and depended on it a lot. I suppose it will be less of a problem if I dictate nearly 100% of my text. With the great recognition this version seems to have, that may cease to be an issue.

Maybe Nuance and Dragon did a good job on this one.
