Voice Training processes forever, doesn't complete

I decided to try again, see if the 2.0.2 update improved anything. I should have checked the above posts and seen that Nuance hadn't fixed it.

Still, same problem, processes endlessly (or more likely, doesn't process at all, because the other menus in Dragon keep working...).

I was having the same problem, and updating to the newest version didn't solve it. What did work was following the Nuance customer service suggestion of creating a new profile and doing all three voice trainings at once. It took about 20 min. altogether, and now I think the software is recognizing my words better than ever. (Then again part of the reason I wanted to do the additional voice training was because I had tweaked some settings that had made it less accurate than when I first installed.)

Note: to create the new profile, I dragged the old profile into the trash, and started from scratch. I initially tried to just overwrite the original profile, but that caused the software to crash.

The only thing I haven't been able to teach Dragon is to correctly spell my own name…

I had great success when I had DD on my MacBook Pro, but now that it's on an Air (yes, all the upgrades in RAM and processor) I, too, get that endless "barber pole" that says it's processing. It never ends. I also think this software isn't as good as the Dragon Naturally Speaking I had, although initially it seemed to "learn" my voice much faster. Now, I am getting discouraged, but I will try the new profile fix and see what happens. And, I will do all the training in one shot.

Please, don't read the other stories.
Page 20 of DD user manual says, "Most users do not find it necessary to do any Voice Training beyond the first story."

If you want to improve accuracy correct dictation using the Recognition Window.
If individual words do not improve, Train that word with Vocabulary Editor.

Same problem. Macbook Pro, 8gb ram and after readings Aesop's Fables, the "processing training" simply doesn't end. I've called Nuance about another issue, left a voice mail with someone specific (Ms. Brown) and was never called back. This seems to be a company that 1) doesn't fix problems it's aware of (some of the posts here regarding this issue are 5 months old and I purchased my DD2 last week, so the software is STILL flawed and 2) will actually ignore a call/message left directly on someone's voicemail. Shame, too. I will not recommend this product to anyone in my field and dissuade them from wasting their time/money trying to get someone to help them.

I had the same problem with the Voice Training. The wheel would endlessly turn after completing Aesop's Fables and The Time Machine.

    Solution:

Delete your old profile, create a new one, and then do ALL of the voice training the first time you open Dragon Dictate. If you close out of Dragon before finishing all 3 stories, your doomed.

Hope that helps everyone :) :)
