Is it possible to get Dragon Dictate to 'discover' a USB headset/mic after it has been unplugged and plugged back in? Skype and Google Voice are able to take input from the mic after the system preferences are reset to the headset as the input device, but Dragon has to be closed and restarted (which takes about 1.5 minutes on my system).

Not really. When you disconnect a microphone dictate disables your profile. To reengage Dictate open your profile and reactivate. You may also have to make changes to your system preference sound file.

This is realllyyyyy annoying – almost a deal killer. I upgraded from Mac Speech Dictate thinking they'd have it solved.

I use skype all day. And it's really coming down to having to abandon one of the two because restarting Dragon EVERY TIME is RIDICULOUS.

Reloading the profile doesn't work at all. I've now got close to $300 into this application and it is essentially useless to me.

I was just speaking on Skype to a colleague and now I'm dictating into this web browser.
I don't seem to have any problem switching back and forth between Skype and dictate.
510935 is my version of Skype. Dragon Dictate is 2.0 .3
    what versions are you using?
