My present microphone is a C-media USB audio, which for the most part has been working well, but I have noted that when I turn my head a bit, it doesn't pick up what I am saying; for logistical reasons, I prefer not to go with a head phone/ear blood blue tooth device, so I just purchased the TableMike 6-1. (thinking that with a larger pickup range, this might not be as much of a concern). The initial training session with the TableMike 6-1 goes well for the first third or so, then the recognition stops, and I have to click the microphone icon to get it going again (I.e. get the words to turn green again); I have tried this a number of times, I'm quite sure it's not me mumbling; typically after doing this 3 times during the training session, it seems to be good to go / IE a profile is made. When I start dictating at that point, it seems to do well for the first few sentence or so, then slows down, particularly if I'm dictating a relatively long sentence. Is this some sort of a memory issue; of note, I have a Mac OSx 10.7.3; 2.66GHZ Intel core 2 Duo; 4 GB 1067 Mhz DDR3. I have MacSpeech Dictate medical ( 1.5.10.) Thanks!

As a SpeechWare distributor/reseller, we can assure you that all SpeechWare microphones, unlike most other microphones, are pretested by the manufacturer before shipping out of Belgium. That's not a guarantee that your microphone isn't defective. It just gives you better odds :-)

Your dictation technique is not likely the problem. The issue is more likely a communication error with your USB port or the 6-in-1 driver. Our 1st recommendation would be to try switching USB ports and make certain that you are using a direct dedicated USB port which means no splitters (video monitor USB port), front or side ports on a desktop computer. Any USB port on a notebook computer is fine. If this doesn't resolve the issue, contact your reseller directly. Even if you did not purchase your microphone from our company, you will find my name “Lunis Orcutt” on the manufacturer paperwork inside your box and you can contact me directly for support on this microphone. Also note that the 6-in-1 microphone includes a two-year manufacturer warranty, is the best TableMike we have ever tested and we have several hundred customers that concur with our KnowBrainer TableMike Face-Off test results.
