Several times I have deleted words that I inadvertently added to the user vocabulary, a day or so later when adding or training other words, I noticed the deleted words are back in the user vocabulary.

    How can I stop this?

One other problem seems to be that Dictate doesn't always know what window is active. It doesn't always write in browser fields.

I have problem teaching Dictate to type Mr. rather than Mister. Have tried to stuffup the Mister by trying to teach it "Not Mister" when training "Mister". Can't delete a word they have put in their vocabulary. I can see this as a problem with the Medical Dictate.

This line was dictated with a "non-medical" profile using MacSpeech Dictate Medical:

    Dear Mr. Wines,

This line was dictated with an "education/medical writer" profile using MacSpeech Dictate Medical:

    Dear Mr. Wines,

So in the context of a salutation, the word is transcribed correctly.

However, I've had problems opposite to yours with the word "mister." In my experience, it is difficult to get Dictate to spell it out. In my use, it is almost always transcribed in the abbreviated form. The specialized, medical profiles do not want to even suggest the spelled out word in the training window. However, a non-medical profile will at least make the suggestion of the spelled-out form in the training window. I do not have a lot of experience using this word, but one would hope that with repeated training, it would learn to prefer the desired choice.

As I have said in other posts on this forum, sometimes it's easier to set up a text macro for difficult words than it is to make repeated attempts at training something that Dictate has a hard time learning. In other words, I like to go with the flow and make the most of Dictate's power rather than focusing in on its few inadequacies. It most definitely has areas of inadequacy, but in my view, the benefits outweigh them by a long shot.
