    Hi Everyone:

I'd like to know if Snow Leopard is Really Necessary for Scribe? I'm running the latest Leopard and do not really want to upgrade my OS now because I'm concerned with having compatibility problems with apps I'm running and I cannot take the time now to research each issue. I would love it if they could make scribe work with Leopard.

    Sincerely,
    Howard

Yes, MacSpeech Scribe requires Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

That is too bad.. I also have been advised not to upgrade to Snow Leopard. Too many potential problems and I am running a business and don't have the time to play around with it.

This is the first program that I have been confronted with a need to update. I guess I won't be buying for a year or so... I think you should have made it work with the previous version of OS if that was possible.

I did recently an upgrade to Snow Leopard. It's recommended to do a clean install. I did so. No problems with Snow Leopard. All key softwares running smooth since 4 months. It takes you time to make a clean install (I had to reinstall a mass of softwares and plug ins ) but when you have done it it's really cool.

This might be wishful thinking, but is it still required to be on Snow Leopard to use this Scribe?

Yes. MacSpeech Scribe requires Snow Leopard. There are certain features built into Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard that MacSpeech Scribe requires. These have to do with how audio is handled.

There are no plans for a version of MacSpeech Scribe that supports earlier versions of Mac OS X.
